Day Trip Sister Date

So. My first 'daily post'. This morning I woke up much later than normal. Although my body woke up at 7:30 I didn't let myself get out of bed until 8:50. Progress! About two months ago I would have easily slept until 10 or 11 without any issue. It really is encouraging to see this movement.

Kevin and I are staying with my sisters this weekend and have tried to plan a couple events to make the weekend more fun. Last night my 6, 16, and 17 year old sisters and I went to Frankie's (an arcade near our houses)and bought four $5 game cards to spend trying to win tickets. Then we went to our sister Sherillyn's house to play games and eat pancakes.

Today's the plan is to take my sisters to Asheville for the day. Asheville is definitely one of my all-time favorite cities to visit. I love the eclectic artiness mixed with the gorgeous and gilded feel of the 1920's. Biltmore Estate has also been a favorite for years, and became more beloved a couple decembers ago when now-my husband proposed on the roof-top observatory. (I'll put a few pictures, just for fun...

I won't go into detail on this post about the whole day, but suffice it to say the proposal on the roof in the rain during a private tour had me totally surprised. It definitely became and remains a magical place for us. The beauty of the 8,000 acre gardens, walking and bike paths, village, house, ponds, fields, shops, winery, farms, and barns provide SO much to do. We never tire of hanging out at the  Estate. Some days we go there just for the free wine tasting (shh! don't tell our secret!) and to stop at the creamery for their Biltmore-exclusive Vanilla Ice Cream (it's been made from the same recipe since the early 1900's and contains TWO TIMES the amount of fat as normal ice cream...talk about A-MA-ZING) before heading into downtown Asheville. It's an all around fantastic place to visit.

But I digress.

I'll shut up and upload some pictures from this weekend:

I added a picture of our game night with our sister Sherillyn and her daughter Evelyn because, well, we're all friends and it was a super fun night.

They all hid from me. I snapped this before they knew I had found them. Of course my sister's German Shepherd Ultra knew they had been discovered though, as evidenced by her sly glance.

As you can see I totally love my sisters. And no, i've never missed having brothers.

PS- I totally wrote the first part of this post on Saturday morning and finished it this morning...because...well...I suck.
